TERMS OF SERVICE

Last updated: 31 October 2026. These terms are still being finalized.

1. Who we are

Afterlife is a DayZ community project run by David Schulz ("we"). These terms apply to this website and to anything you order in our store. You can reach us at [email protected], through the contact form or on Discord.

Afterlife is not affiliated with Bohemia Interactive or Valve. DayZ and Steam are trademarks of their owners.

2. Your account

You sign in with your Steam account, and everything you order is tied to that SteamID. Keep access to your Steam account safe, because anything done while you are signed in counts as done by you.

3. Using the website

Please use this website lawfully and fairly. In particular, you may not:

  • pretend to be another person or a member of our team,
  • attack, overload or try to bypass the security of the website,
  • send spam through the contact form,
  • use tag texts that are offensive, hateful or unlawful.

4. Our game servers

Playing on our servers is also subject to the server rules, which we publish on Discord. Breaking them can lead to a kick or a ban.

Afterlife is in a beta phase. Expect bugs, restarts, downtime and wipes of in-game progress. We work to keep things running, but we can't promise that a server will always be available or stay unchanged.

5. What the store offers

The store sells digital perks for our servers and also takes donations (section 7). The product page shows where each perk is valid.

  • Priority Queue: for the one server you choose, for 30 or 90 days. Buying it again adds to the remaining time.
  • Skins: permission to use the skin on all Main servers.
  • Group Tag Color: permission to change your group tag color on all Main servers. You pick the color in the game.
  • Solo Tags: a tag in chat, valid either on all Main servers or on Arena. Custom tags have 2–5 letters or digits and pass a word filter.

Most perks become active after the next server restart. Wipes of in-game progress don't remove them.

Perks are a personal right to use them on our servers. You don't buy ownership, they have no cash value, and you can't transfer or resell them.

We can remove a tag that breaks section 3. A ban for breaking the server rules doesn't automatically entitle you to a refund. Your statutory rights stay unaffected.

6. Orders and payment

Prices are shown in euros in the store. When you complete an order you make us a binding offer. The contract is formed when we confirm your payment and unlock your items. Until you have paid, you can cancel an open order in your account. If a payment is reversed without good reason, we can remove the items it paid for.

7. Donations

A donation is a voluntary gift that supports running the servers and developing the mods. You choose the amount, from 1 € to 500 €. You get no items, perks or in-game advantages for it, and it doesn't protect you from the server rules.

Because we sell you nothing in return, the right of withdrawal in section 8 doesn't cover donations, and we don't refund them. If a payment was made by mistake or without your permission, contact us and we will look at it. Your statutory rights stay unaffected.

Afterlife is not a registered charity, so we can't issue donation receipts and your donation isn't tax-deductible.

8. Your right of withdrawal

This section applies to consumers in the EU and to store items, not to donations.

Right of withdrawal. You have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The period ends 14 days after the day the contract was concluded. To withdraw, tell David Schulz by e-mail to [email protected], through the contact form, on Discord or at the postal address, which will be added here shortly. A clear statement with your order ID is enough. You may use the model form below, but you don't have to. Your notice only has to be sent before the period ends.

Effects of withdrawal. We refund everything you paid without undue delay, and at the latest within 14 days of receiving your notice. We use the same payment method unless we agree otherwise, and you pay no fees for this. We then remove the items.

When the right ends early. Store items are digital. At checkout you agree that we start delivery right after payment, and you confirm you know that you lose your right of withdrawal once delivery starts. The right therefore ends when we unlock your items. Until then you can still withdraw or cancel an unpaid order.

Model withdrawal form (only if you want to use it):

To David Schulz: I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the following item: ___. Order ID: ___. Ordered on: ___. Name: ___. SteamID: ___. Date: ___.

9. Defects and liability

The statutory rules on defects apply to what you buy.

We are fully liable for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and where the law makes liability mandatory. For slight negligence we are only liable if we breach an obligation that is essential to the contract, and only up to the damage that is typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Otherwise we are not liable for slight negligence.

10. Content

The content of this website, including its text, images and design, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse it without our permission, beyond what the law allows.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using the site at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in our privacy policy. We can block access if someone seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. Your statutory rights to anything already paid for stay unaffected.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, for example when the store changes, and will post the new version here. Your existing orders stay under the terms that applied when you placed them, unless you agree to the new ones.

13. Applicable law

German law applies. If you are a consumer in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country. We do not take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
